FABRICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF W-TYPE HEXA-FERRITES

Abstract

W-type Hexagonal ferrites BaCu2-xZnxFe16O27 (x = 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0) were prepared by co-precipitation technique. The samples were characterized by on the basis of electrical properties. By measuring electrical resistivity and thermopower the conduction in these materials is attributed to the hopping mechanism of electrons between Fe+2 and Fe+3 along with holes transfer between Zn+2 and Zn+3. The thermoelectric power results show that all these samples are degenerate type semiconductors.
