ACETYLATOR PHENOTYPE DETERMINATION OF HEALTHY AND TUBERCULOSIS AFFECTED POPULATION OF PUNJAB

Abstract

The acctylaror phenotyping study was conducted on healthy human volunteers (11 12!l) ;11111 diagnosed pretreatment tubercular patients (n··60). Isoniazid was used as test drug in healthy individuals, while sulph.nucrhazine served the same purpose in proposed tuberculosis patients. I Iruic and blood samples were assayed spectrophotumetrically For drugs and their metabolites. The percentage abundance ottast acetylators in both healthy and tubercular patients was4J.33'Yo and 41.67% respectively. Among the population of Punjab 42.7% were proved fast, while remaining 57.J% were slow acetylaturs.
