SELECTION OF VARIABLES IN MULTIPLE REGRESSION USING STEPWISE REGRESSION

Abstract

This paper focuses on the selection of variables using stepwise regression. Methodologies of backward elimination and forward selection are discussed. Detailed explanations of stepwise regression procedures are presented. Above  methodologies in various terms with empirical data are explained in detail.
